Let’s Anime is one of CCS’s most anticipated events and this Fall it was attended in record numbers–some of the crowd were sitting on the floor in order to participate! This Fall the film and topic was Akira (1988) with a guest presentation by Dr. Christopher Douglas: “Won’t Someone Think of the Children? Motorcycle Gangs, the Bubble Economy, and Obligation in Akira (1988).” Make sure to stay tuned for the Spring 2026 installation of this popular event!

The department of Comparative Cultural Studies requires internships or fieldwork experiences in several our programs, including our B.A. in Comparative Cultural Studies, our B.S. in Arts & Cultural Management, and in the Museum Studies minor program requires our students to complete fieldwork or internship experience to enhance their career readiness by learning from professionals on site. On May 1st, CCS celebrated its students at the annual awards dinner. We awarded 4 scholarships, 5 Junior Book Prizes, our inaugural Ambassador Award, and our Outstanding Senior Award.
