Tackling Antisemitism in Mexico’s Politics

Many find it difficult to grasp that prejudiced views against Jews continue to exist in the present-day world.

However, many Hispanic and Latinx community members fear the increase of antisemitic propaganda that has appeared in Mexico’s news outlets.

Pedro Gonzalez Corona, a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy, illuminates this issue. CCS Professor of Art History and Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Letters Dr. Alexandra Carpino has been invited to give a lecture titled “Marketing Motherhood: Etruscan Case Studies” at the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago on October 12, 2023. She will discuss how one class of household artifacts – engraved bronze mirrors – depict mothers in particular, in the 4th century BCE.

Join the Martin-Springer Institute for a talk by Dr. Pedro J. Gonzalez Corona, the 2023-2024 MSI Postdoctoral Scholar. Congratulations to the Martin-Springer Institute on the completion of their digital exhibition “Stories of the Spanish Civil War.” The project featured student interns from across campus and several from CCS major and minor programs under the direction of CCS Professor of the Comparative Study of Religions and director of the Martin-Sprinter Institute Dr. Bjorn Krondorfer.
