Attendance and engagement have been high, and have led to numerous ongoing partnerships and further research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>History<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The ABRC Education Series began in January, 2016, and built on a formal relationship between Northern Arizona Healthcare and Northern Arizona University, the Translational Health Research Initiative (THRiVE), with initial topics around grant proposal development and human subjects in research. The program has expanded to include more partners, and workshops in statewide locations such as Yuma, Phoenix, and Kingman, Arizona. The series is in its last (fifth) year, but plans to continue the program are underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the focus of the series is on health equity research, it has engaged a broad and multisectoral range of partners, including healthcare delivery, criminal justice, the interface of adverse childhood experiences and public health, migrant farmworker health, transportation, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Topics covered during the 2019-2020 Series include public health impacts of juvenile justice system involvement on youth and families of color, public health impacts of climate change, an on-going multisectoral health research networking event in Yuma, and strategies for addressing opioid addiction through interprofessional
