Her prior work experiences paved the path for a Master of Public Health program specific to Indigenous populations. While at NAU, Begay&nbsp; worked as a graduate research assistant with the Center for Community Health and Engaged Research under the Navajo NARCH grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a graduate student, Begay attended and co-presented at the Navajo Nation Human Research Review Board, SACNAS, and APHA conferences. Her accolades include Outstanding Graduate Research Assistant nominee, 2021 Distinguished Graduate for the Masters in Public Health program, and 2021 Distinguished Graduate for the College of Health and Human Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She received numerous scholarships which included the Louis H. and Betty J.
