Speakers included <strong>Daniel Derksen<\/strong>, MD, associate vice president for Health Equity, Outreach &amp; Interprofessional Activities, University of Arizona; Regents&#8217; Professor <strong>Julie A. Baldwin<\/strong>, PhD, director of CHER and professor in Northern Arizona University&#8217;s College of Health and Human Services; and <strong>Mary O&#8217;Reilly<\/strong>, PhD, Flinn Foundation, vice president of the Bioscience Research Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special guest speaker, <strong>Jose Cruz Rivera<\/strong>, PhD, president of Northern Arizona University, presented on NAU&#8217;s strategic roadmap related to addressing workforce needs and health equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop included three breakout discussions that had decision-makers, health officials, educators, and researchers and focused on reducing health inequities through collective community engagement and health research capacity in the Yuma\/Sonora border region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Breakout sessions included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Binational Working Group: Solutions to Social Determinants of Health<\/li><li>Workforce Working Group<\/li><li>Community Engagement &amp;
