Earn your Ph.D. with CSTL!

Posted by Author on Source on October 29, 2020

Interested in earning your Ph.D. in science education?

The Center for Science Teaching and Learning (CSTL) is excited to announce that doctoral studies in science education are now available!

This year the CSTL completed a move to the College of Education at NAU. This allowed us to join the recently revamped Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) doctoral program and offer science education as an official field of study. Students will work closely with a CSTL faculty member while engaging in targeted coursework and research opportunities in the field. Specific research areas supported by CSTL faculty include science teaching and learning at the secondary and post-secondary levels, science teacher education, and learning in informal science education contexts.

The program can be completed on a part-time* or full-time basis. Graduate research and/or teaching assistantships may be available. Please contact the graduate program coordinator (cstl@nau.edu) or individual faculty members for information on current opportunities. Applications are due on November 15th for the upcoming academic year.

Please see the CSTL Graduate Programs website for further information!

*Part-time students are required to meet residency requirements by completing a minimum of two semesters (fall, spring, or summer) of full-time study.
