Virtual International Internships
NAU is excited to offer virtual internships through Absolute Internship!
Advance your academic and career opportunities by adding a professional virtual international internship to your college experience. These project-based internships can be done from any remote location from your own laptop, with flexible hours in your time zone! Internships provide marketability, and can help you begin international networking. Absolute Internship provides guidance on how to boost your employability, add to your CV/resume and get experience in your field of study. Internship placements guaranteed once approved by Absolute Internship!

Scholarships available:
Students will receive a $900 scholarship paid to Absolute Internship for the Virtual Internship placement fee.
Tuition for Summer 2025 is estimated at $1800 for 3 credits and $3600 for 6 credits. Please verify tuition rates for final costs.

- 2.5 GPA
- Ability to work 20-30 hours remote during Summer 2025

Earn 3 credits of SA 408 – Study Abroad Internship*:
- 30 hours per week minimum + final project for 4 weeks – 3 credits
- 20 hours per week minimum for 8 weeks – 3 credits
*Departmental credit can be approved, but is not guaranteed – please work with your academic advisor

There is no language requirement to apply for this program. Internships can be completed in English.
Opportunities available in Chinese, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish. Proficiency at an upper intermediate or advanced level required, depending on internship placement. Other languages may be available upon request.
Cost Accordion Closed
NAU in-state tuition and fees for the number of credits (3 or 6) will be added to the student’s Louie account. Payment follows the fee payment schedule of the university and is usually due around mid-May.

Do I have to work in my placement’s time zone? No! Your work is flexible and negotiable with your company.
Do I need to be in a specific location to apply for a remote internship? No! As long as you have reliable wifi you are good to work from whatever location best serves you.
Are these remote internships paid? No, they are not paid.
Are the virtual internships open for international students? This program is open to all nationalities including international students.
What qualifications are required for virtual internships? No qualifications are required outside of being a currently enrolled NAU student. (Just a working laptop/desktop computer and access to wifi!)
Cancellation Accordion Closed
Summer 2025 – Students will be responsible for a $900 cancellation fee if canceled after the virtual internship placement is confirmed** and before May 9, 2025.
