Language clubs

Languages Clubs offer participation in organizing and presenting a variety of language-specific cultural events or activities pertinent to the study and teaching of language.

Language tables

We regularly sponsor conversation tables in different languages. These groups, facilitated by department faculty, meet regularly during the academic year at local restaurants or cafés to offer students and community members the chance to use their foreign languages skills in a relaxed and informal setting.

  • Spanish Tertulia (Ed Hood / 928-523-9635):
    • BAA 209 (Bldg. 23)
    • Thursdays 4:00-5:00 PM
    • Everyone is invited – students of all levels, staff, and community members.
  • German (William.Mahan@nau.edu):
    Stammtisch – Meets every Thursday from 6-8pm at the Ni Marco’s pizzeria on Beaver Street.
  • French (Deniza.ticic@nau.edu):
    La Table Française – September 17, October 23, November 20. at 6:30 p.m. at Wildflower, 530 Picadilly Dr.
  • Italian (Kevin Massoletti / 928-523-1236):
    La Serata – Every other week on Wednesdays at NiMarco’s on Beaver (this semester)
