Failure to maintain J-1 status

Understanding what it means

If a J-1 student fails to maintain their immigration status, their SEVIS record will be terminated according to regulations. In this situation a student is no longer eligible for any benefits of J-1 status such as on-campus employment, travel signature for re-entry to the United States, Academic Training authorization, and any other benefits of J-1 status. Once a J-1 student has failed to maintain their status and and their record is terminated, they need to depart the US immediately.

Withdrawing from Northern Arizona University will impact your J-1 student status. To withdraw from NAU, complete the Intent to Withdraw Form found on the NAU Registrar website. Students must notify ISSS about any changes in their program plans prior to making changes.
