Failure to maintain J-1 status<\/h1>\n

Understanding what it means<\/h2>\n

If a J-1 student fails to maintain their immigration status, their SEVIS record will be terminated according to regulations. In this situation a student is no longer eligible for any benefits of J-1 status such as on-campus employment, travel signature for re-entry to the United States, Academic Training authorization, and any other benefits of J-1 status. Once a J-1 student has failed to maintain their status and and their record is terminated, they need to depart the US immediately.<\/p>\n

Withdrawing from Northern Arizona University will impact your J-1 student status. To withdraw from NAU, complete the Intent to Withdraw Form<\/a> found on the NAU Registrar website. Students must notify ISSS about any changes in their program plans prior to making changes.
