Actuarial Science, Minor

A minor is earned in conjunction with a bachelor's degree.

To receive a minor (18 - 24 units) at Northern Arizona University, you must complete a planned group of courses from one or more subject matter areas with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0. At least 12 units of the minor must be unique to that minor and not applied to any other minor.

Students may be able to use some courses to meet more than one requirement. Contact your advisor for details.

No more than fifty percent of the units used to satisfy minor requirements may be used to satisfy major requirements.

Highest Mathematics Required	MAT 480

Take the following 21 units with a Grade of "C" or better:
- STA 471, STA 473, STA 477 (9 units)
- Select from the following (6 units):
  - ECO 284 and ECO 285
  - FIN 311 and FIN 331
- Select from the following options (6 units):
  - MAT 462 or MAT 562
  - MAT 480 or MAT 580
  - MAT 565

A Mathematics BS major may earn a Minor in Actuarial Science, but at least half the credits (essentially 12 units) in the minor must be courses that are not used to fulfill the student's Mathematics Major requirements.
