The Bioengineering Devices Lab (BDL) service center, housed across 2500 sq. ft. of shared space, is for use by industry partners, medical institutions, university collaborators, and independent users. For information on availability and pricing contact Tim Becker.

  • Certified cleanroom (250 sq. ft. of ISO 5 and ISO 7 spaces) for prototyping and manufacturing
  • In vitro surgical suite with video streaming of fluoroscopic, benchtop vitals and Webcam
  • 3D-printer system (multi-material PolyJet) for vascular modeling, manufacturing, and prototyping
  • Blood flow model of comprehensive patient for neuro- and cardiovascular use
  • Synthetic blood clot and blood analog for stroke, aspiration, and flow modeling
  • Medical device testing equipment and setup
  • DMA-rheometer for certified mechanical and material testing
  • Particle image velocimetry (PIV) for blood flow modeling and benchtop imaging
  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) computer modeling and analysis
