are for undergraduate students whose parent or guardian died as a result of military service in Iraq or Afghanistan after September 11, 2001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<!-- removed margin utility classes pt-0 <\/header>\n\n    <div class=\"hiw-innerblockwrapper  \">\n                    <p class=\"is-style-eyebrow\">Iraq and Afghanistan Service grant eligibility<\/p>\n        \n        <!--h3><\/h3-->\n\n        <div class=\"wp-block-columns\">\n            <div class=\"wp-block-column\"><p>To be eligible for the Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants, you must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be pursuing your first bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/li>\n<li>Not currently be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant as calculated by the FAFSA.<\/li>\n<li>Meet the remaining Federal Pell Grant eligibility requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Have a parent or guardian who was a member of the US armed forces and died as a result of military service performed in Iraq or Afghanistan after the events of 9\/11.<\/li>\n<li>Have been under 24 years old or enrolled in college at least part-time at the time of your parent\u2019s or guardian\u2019s death.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>                    <\/div>\n\n                \n        <div class=\"wp-block-buttons alignright\">\n                    <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<h2>How to apply<\/h2>\n\n\n<section         class=\"nau-article-block-simple-color-text-photo bg-gold \">\n    \n\n    \n        <hr role=\"none\" class=\"hr-clearspace-20 d-none-md\">\n\n                        <p>Students are identified by the Department of Defense when they file the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/fafsa-app\/ROLES\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FAFSA<\/a> and NAU awards the amount of that year\u2019s full Pell Grant.
