It\u2019s by far the number one way to make sure you\u2019re getting the most possible financial aid.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t have to apply to NAU or be admitted <em>before<\/em> filing the FAFSA. Just be sure you enter <strong>NAU school code 001082<\/strong> when you file it.<\/p>\n<p>NAU\u2019s priority filing date is April 1, and students have to re-file the FAFSA each year, not just when they apply for college. But for now, check out the website below for detailed instructions and a helpful video on getting started.<\/p>\n<p><em data-rich-text-format-boundary=\"true\">Note: Undocumented students who are ineligible to complete the FAFSA can complete the\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/cssprofile.collegeboard.org\/\"><em>CSS\u00a0profile<\/em><\/a><em> using NAU school code 4006.<\/em><\/p>\n\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\/filling-out\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link link_padding\">Fill out FAFSA form<\/a>\n        \n\n<\/section>\n\n<section         class=\"nau-article-block-simple-color-text-photo bg-gold  hasLink\">\n    \n\n    \n        <hr role=\"none\" class=\"hr-clearspace-20 d-none-md\">\n\n        <h3>Use the Net Price Calculator<\/h3>                <p>The best way to get a feel for what attending NAU will cost is to try out our Net Price Calculator. The calculator is fully customizable and even matches you with potential scholarship and aid opportunities.<\/p>\n\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/app.meadowfi.com\/nau\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"link link_padding\">Try it out!<\/a>\n        \n\n<\/section>\n\n<section         class=\"nau-article-block-simple-color-text-photo bg-twilight \">\n    \n\n    \n        <hr role=\"none\" class=\"hr-clearspace-20 d-none-md\">\n\n        <h3>Look for your financial aid offer letter in the mail<\/h3>                <p>The financial aid offer letter shows you what scholarships and other financial aid you are eligible for. Read your financial aid offer letter and all the information included with it carefully.<\/p>\n<p>The financial aid offer letter can be helpful in determining whether you\u2019ll need to take out a loan to pay for your education, and it\u2019ll even show you how much of a loan you\u2019re eligible for from the federal government. For more information on direct loans and how to accept them, check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/office-scholarships-financial-aid\/types-aid\/student-loans\/direct-subsidized-unsubsidized-loans\/\">direct loans for NAU students<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<p>If your financial aid offer letter shows your family is eligible for a <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/office-scholarships-financial-aid\/types-aid\/student-loans\/federal-plus-loans\/\">parent PLUS loan<\/a>, they\u2019ll need to take additional steps if they want to accept all or part of that loan.<\/p>\n<p><em>Please note: for the 2024-25 academic year, the U.S. Department of Education has announced colleges and universities will not receive FAFSA applicant information until mid-March 2024. This delay will lead to postponement of financial aid financial aid offer letters. NAU is committed to packaging and sending award letters as quickly as possible once the information is received.<\/em><\/p>\n\n    \n\n<\/section>\n\n<section         class=\"nau-article-block-simple-color-text-photo bg-sunset \">\n    \n\n    \n        <hr role=\"none\" class=\"hr-clearspace-20 d-none-md\">\n\n        <h3>Important scholarship information<\/h3>                <p>Be sure to submit your 6<sup>th <\/sup>semester <strong>and<\/strong> final high school transcripts to University Admissions to be considered for <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/office-scholarships-financial-aid\/scholarships\/freshman-tuition\/\">freshman tuition scholarships<\/a>.
