This is applicable at NAU\u2019s Flagstaff and Statewide campuses (Online students are not eligible).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, members of one of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.azed.gov\/oie\/22-federally-recognized-tribes-arizona\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.azed.gov\/oie\/22-federally-recognized-tribes-arizona\" target=\"_blank\">Arizona&#8217;s 22 federally recognized tribes<\/a> will receive the full benefit of A2E, regardless of income or state of residency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"securea2e\"><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>NAU is broadening access to higher education and increasing attainment of valuable postsecondary credentials for Arizona residents\u2014fueling economic and social mobility in Arizona and throughout the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible students must complete the following steps to secure A2E:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/how-to-apply\/apply-now\/\">Apply<\/a> and be admitted to NAU.<\/li><li>Complete the <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FAFSA<\/a> after it opens October 1 and submit any requested financial aid documents (this is how we verify your income).<\/li><li>Review your financial aid offer to confirm if you are an A2E recipient.<\/li><li>Enroll full-time in 12 or more credits each term.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"coverage\">What it covers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible charges covered by A2E:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your undergraduate tuition charges for fall and spring will be covered using a combination of tuition scholarships and other grant funds. (Summer and winter session tuition is not included. Fees are also not included.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A2E does not cover other elements of your cost of attendance, such as mandatory and college fees, books, housing, food, transportation, or personal expenses. Students are encouraged to file the FAFSA by the Preferred FAFSA filing date each year and apply for additional scholarships through ScholarshipUniverse each winter. The <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/office-scholarships-financial-aid\/aid-programs\/arizona-promise-program\/\">Arizona Promise Program<\/a> is available for eligible students to help cover the cost of mandatory and college fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Preferred FAFSA filing dates<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Students attending fall only: April 15<\/li><li>Students attending fall and spring: April 15<\/li><li>Students attending spring only: October 15<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Access to Excellence is made possible through federal, state, and institutional waivers and grants. This program is contingent upon the continuation of Title IV Federal Student Aid programs, such as the Federal Pell and Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants, administered through the US Department of Education. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"learnmore\">Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>NAU is broadening access to higher education and increasing the potential for all Arizonans to obtain valuable postsecondary credentials\u2014fueling economic and social mobility in Arizona and throughout the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A2E breaks down financial barriers and forges a pathway for every student in Arizona to come to NAU and pursue their dreams. Here are the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"HowisitdeterminedifIameligible_header\">How is eligibility determined?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You&#8217;re eligible for A2E if you: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Are an undergraduate Arizona resident newly admitted as a freshman or transfer student to NAU for fall 2023 or later <\/li><li>You&#8217;ve filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using NAU school code 001082 by the appropriate Preferred FAFSA filing date <\/li><li>You&#8217;re classified (by your FAFSA) as a dependent student whose parents&#8217; combined Adjusted Gross Income is $65,000 or less; OR you&#8217;re classified (by your FAFSA) as an independent student with an Adjusted Gross Income of $65,000 or less<\/li><li>Your Student Aid Index (SAI), as determined by the FAFSA, is also 65,000 or less.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Online students are not eligible for A2E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"IfIampartofArizonas22recognizedtribeswhatdoesthatmean_header\">I&#8217;m a part of one of Arizona&#8217;s 22 federally recognized tribes. Does that qualify me for A2E?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a registered member of one of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.azed.gov\/oie\/22-federally-recognized-tribes-arizona\" target=\"_blank\">Arizona\u2019s 22 federally recognized tribes<\/a>, you qualify for A2E, regardless of income or state of residence. To verify Tribal enrollment, a copy of your Tribal Identification Card or Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) may be required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"WhatchargesdoesA2EcoverandhowlongcanIreceiveA2E_header\">How long can I receive A2E?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You may be eligible for four years if you remain on a Flagstaff or Statewide campus and maintain full-time enrollment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A2E does not cover other elements of your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/paying-for-college\/tuition-and-fees\/\">cost of attendance<\/a>, such as mandatory and college fees, books, housing, food, transportation, or personal expenses. Families who have experienced a significant change in income may be eligible to submit a <a href=\"https:\/\/legacy.nau.edu\/office-scholarships-financial-aid\/contribution-appeal\/\">Contribution Appeal<\/a> to the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"AmIstilleligibleforA2EifIamaLumberjackScholarsrecipient_header\">Am I still eligible for A2E if I am a Lumberjack Scholars recipient?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As a Lumberjack Scholars recipient, your tuition is already covered so you are not eligible for A2E. However, you might be eligible for additional grant funds, so it is important to complete the FAFSA by the Preferred FAFSA filing date each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"WhatifIhaveothertuitionscholarshipsDeansPresidentsamIstilleligibleforA2E_header\">If I have other tuition scholarships (Dean&#8217;s, President&#8217;s), am I still eligible for A2E?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, up to your full cost of tuition.&nbsp;You might still be eligible for additional grants, so it is important that you complete the FAFSA by the Preferred FAFSA filing date each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A2E-eligible aid is awarded in the following order and applied directly to the cost of tuition:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>NAU in-state tuition scholarships (Lumberjack, President\u2019s, Dean\u2019s with Distinction, Dean\u2019s, Opportunity, Jacks, 2NAU)<\/li><li>Federal Grants (Pell, FSEOG)<\/li><li>State\/Institutional Grants (Financial Aid Trust, University)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the full cost of tuition has been met, any remaining grant funds and student loans (if accepted by the student) will apply to other institutional charges, such as fees, housing, and food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Offered aid amounts and types are subject to availability of funds and student eligibility.&nbsp;NAU reserves the right to adjust students\u2019 offered aid at any time based on changes to either criterion.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"IfImakemorethan65000whatamIeligiblefor_header\">If I make more than $65,000, what am I eligible for?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For students with a household income above $65,000, NAU will continue to provide generous financial aid and scholarship packages.
