Alumna Rachael Costello awarded Fulbright grant

Rachael Costello (International Affairs & Political Science, 2018) was  awarded a Fulbright grant to pursue her Masters in Conflict Resolution and Mediation at Tel Aviv University in Israel. Rachael’s work will focus upon the inclusion of women in mediation as a means to respond effectively to security threats both domestic and international, improve the longevity of peace agreements, and advance the common interests of humanity.

Stephen Meserve receives American Political Science Association Award

Stephen Meserve, an assistant professor in the department of politics and international affairs, has received the American Political Science Association’s 2019 Best Published Article in Information Technology and Politics Award, along with Daniel Pemstein, assistant professor of political science at North Dakota State University, for “Google Politics: The Political Determinants of Internet Censorship in Democracies.” According to the article’s abstract, the expansion of digital interconnectivity has both increased individuals’ access to media and presented governments with new opportunities to regulate information flows.
