The PIE benefits greatly from our accomplished instructional staff. Our instructional staff consists of three groups:

  • Full-time Instructors and Lecturers hold MA degrees in the field of TESOL. See NAU Faculty Positions for a list of current openings.
  • Graduate Teaching Assistants includes PhD Students with MA-TESL degrees. For more information or to inquire about current openings, see Graduate Assistantships.
  • Part-time Faculty. For more information about part-time positions available, please contact PIE@nau.edu.

Teacher training

The Program in Intensive English provides teacher training and professional development for Northern Arizona University’s MA-TESL/PhD in Applied Linguistics candidates.

Professional development

PIE offers ongoing professional development opportunities for all PIE faculty members. Some examples of professional development opportunities include webinars related to curricular and instructional issues, test development in collaboration with the PIE assessment team, and guest speakers.
