César Flores Márquez, Vice Provost
César Flores Márquez serves as Vice Provost for Global Affairs. The Vice Provost for Global Affairs office manages international institutional partnerships and works with NAU faculty and administrators in recruiting, admitting, and supporting international students and scholars. The administrative areas of his office are housed under NAU’s comprehensive international hub, the Center for International Education.
Vice Provost for Global Affairs
César Flores Márquez serves as Vice Provost for Global Affairs at Northern Arizona University, where he provides leadership for international education and global engagement strategies. He works in close partnership with all NAU colleges and departments to identify, create, and expand global learning opportunities and academic exchange for students, faculty, and scholars.
In this role, he provides leadership and guidance to the teams that manage international student recruitment and admission, international partnerships, short-term and exchange programs, and serves within the Provost Office team on strategic global initiatives.
César has more than 20 years of experience in global higher education, having served in leadership roles at the University of Phoenix, Arizona State University, and Northern Arizona University. He holds a B.S. in International Business from Tecnológico de Monterrey, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and is completing his Ph.D. dissertation on transboundary water management at Arizona State University.
