About Beacon Education and NAU partnership
The Beacon Education partnership is designed for working professionals and students who are Mandarin proficient. Working in partnership with Beacon Education, Northern Arizona University is leveraging the comprehensive teaching and learning platform that was designed and optimized in China to provide an outstanding education experience.
The programs offered in the Beacon Partnership are conducted through NAU’s Personalized Learning, competency-based platform: online courses that incorporate innovative teaching and learning methods. It differs from the traditional academic model, prioritizing deeper learning through a personalized approach for each student. The program provides learners, who are often working professionals, the flexibility and support to best meet their needs. Tuition is based on length of time rather than by course or credit hours, providing a financial incentive for students to complete their degree on an accelerated timeline.

The competency-based format focuses on your needs; it allows you to set your own deadlines and move through the coursework at your own pace. Graduate students in a Personalized Learning, competency-based program are permitted to complete up to seven (7) 3-credit hour courses during one subscription, or a maximum of 21 credits. This flexibility allows students to complete their degree in a minimum of two six-month subscriptions.
A student has a maximum of six years to complete the Master’s of Computer Information Technology degree program.

Beacon Education is not an agent. Beacon Education Limited, along with its affiliates (北京彼岸京华教育科技有限公司), are NAU’s partners for the online and hybrid degree programs for students in China.
Tuition and fees will be facilitated by our partner, Beacon Education Limited, along with its affiliates (北京彼岸京华教育科技有限公司), who will support you through payment, enrollment, and study.
Students can start a six-month subscription on the first Wednesday of every month.
Yes. A Beacon partnership online master’s degree does qualify as a U.S. master’s degree for H-1B visa eligibility purposes. The degree can also qualify as a “U.S. advanced degree” for purposes of the H-1B lottery.
Students who enroll in a Beacon partnership degree program will be assigned to a Beacon Education advisor. The Beacon Education advisor will collaborate with NAU teams as needed to assist students.
Yes. Students who have applied for graduation are eligible to attend NAU Commencement in Flagstaff. NAU and Beacon Education also host a virtual commencement ceremony in the fall and spring for students who are not able to travel to Flagstaff for the in-person commencement ceremony.
