PSY 279, PSY 485 and PSY 486C partner undergraduate students with a faculty member to work on faculty-led or student-led research projects. Students can sign up for 1–3 credit hours of PSY 279 or 485 per semester. However, only a total of 6 credit hours of individualized instruction (e.g., PSY 279, 485, 486C) can count toward the psychology major.

Our department follows an application procedure in order to sign up for PSY 279 and 485 credits. Enrollment in PSY 486C is generally discussed with your PSY 485 faculty mentor after completion of at least one semester of PSY 485. If a student wishes to work with a specific faculty member, it is advised that they speak with that faculty member before applying for entry into the program.  Faculty research interests can be found on our department’s website.

For more information on the program, and to complete the application to be considered for either the PSY 279 or the PSY 485 course, please visit the undergraduate research page on our website.  The deadline for applying is 11:59 PM on November 16, 2018.
