Elizabeth Martinez, a Psychology major and Honors student, coauthored the article Interns-to-Scholars: First-Generation Success Beyond the Classroom with her faculty mentor within the Interns-to-Scholars program, Associate Professor T. Mark Montoya.  Dr. Montoya is the Director of the Ethnic Studies Program at Northern Arizona University.

Psychological Sciences Students Earn People’s Choice Award for the 2021 Virtual Undergraduate Symposium

Claire Groves and Abigail Klein earned the People’s Choice Award for the 2021 Virtual Undergraduate Symposium for their poster, Adjusting to college during the pandemic: Is grit or resilience more important?  The award was made by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities following the event.

Dr. Ann Huffman Coauthors Article on Mentorship and Career Optimism

Ann Huffman, professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences and the WA Franke College of Business, co-authored with NAU alumni, Kristine Olson, the article, “The relationship between mentor support experiences and STEM graduate student career optimism” published in Career Development International. The article examines the role that mentorship and gender have in graduate students’ career optimism.  The findings of the study provide evidence that mentor support experiences are significantly linked to career optimism via self-efficacy and school satisfaction… Read more
