The 3 Minute Research Presentation (3MRP) Competition, hosted by the NAU Office of Graduate and Professional Studies, provides an opportunity for NAU graduate students to present their scholarly and/or creative work to an audience in three minutes or less. Graduate student Chelsea Taylor earned third place in the competition with her presentation “In Search of a Relationship Between Dance and Spatial Reasoning.” 
Her presentation was based on her master’s thesis, which explored the association between dance and spatial reasoning using data she and her team collected at an arts-focused charter school. Drs. Nora Dunbar and Viktoria Tidikis, both members of Chelsea’s thesis committee, served as faculty advisors for the presentation. Chelsea recently graduated from NAU with a Master of Arts in Psychological Sciences degree, adding that accomplishment to an impressive list of others, including dancing professionally with a number of modern dance companies in the San Francisco area and a decade of experience as a Grand Canyon river guide. She will continue her education in the fall when she enters a doctoral program in experimental psychology.
