Dr. Ann Huffman Elected Chair of APA Board of Convention and Affairs

Ann Huffman, Ph.D., of the Department of Psychological Sciences, began her term as Chair of the Board of Convention Affairs of the American Psychological Association (APA) on January 1, 2020.  Dr. Huffman has been a member of the Board since 2017 and was elected Chair in 2019.  The Board is responsible for planning and executing the organization’s annual convention, which last year welcomed over 10,000 attendees from more than fifty countries.  At the 2019 convention, the Board initiated “Psych-Sciences in 3”… Read more

Dr. Schrack Walters Receives Teaching Award

The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) recognized Dr. Andy Schrack Walters with AASECT’s Sexuality Educator Award at the organization’s 51st Annual Meeting held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  AASECT was founded in 1967 and is an interdisciplinary organization centrally devoted to the promotion of sexual health and advancements in sexuality counseling, therapy, and education.  Three distinguished awards were presented:  the Humanitarian Award, the Integrative Approaches to Sex Therapy Award, and the Sexuality Educator Award.   Drs. Michele Lee selected by the HHS Office of Minority Health to serve as a Health Equity Fellow in Summer 2019
