Two Department Faculty and Former Student Publish in Teaching of Psychology

Meliksah Demir, Ph.D., Nora Dunbar, Ph.D., and former NAU student Shelby Burton authored the article Professor-Student Rapport and Perceived Autonomy Support as Predictor of Course and Student Outcomes in the January edition of Teaching of Psychology, the American Psychological Association’s flagship journal for educators in the field.   One of the conclusions resulting from their research was that “providing professors with opportunity to enhance rapport and autonomy may improve student success.”  Ms. Burton is now a fourth-year doctorate student in… Read more

New Opportunity for Undergraduate Research in Psychology

The Northern Arizona University’s Department of Psychological Sciences will be offering an APA Summer Undergraduate Psychology Research Experience (SUPRE). This paid 8-week program provides talented undergraduates who have little or no prior laboratory experience with the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of how scientific research is conducted.

Cynthia Ortiz Accepted to Doctoral Program

Mallory Kroeck Receives the Vicki Green Psychological Sciences Thesis Award

The Vicki Green Psychological Sciences Thesis award provides funding for graduate students in the Department of Psychological Science to assist with expenses to conduct their research.  To be eligible for the award the student must have successfully completed their thesis proposal and obtained IRB approval.
