River Studies and Leadership Certificate Accordion Open

Are you passionate about rivers? Want to turn that passion into a career in river management or advocacy? Northern Arizona University has partnered with the River Management Society to offer the River Studies and Leadership Certificate (RSLC). This certificate is designed to offer students who are inspired to join the next generation of river professionals a foundation of knowledge, skills and experience in river-based science, policy, conservation, education, and recreation.

RSLC coursework is focused specifically on river systems, yet it is interdisciplinary in nature; students explore and study river systems in ways that integrate the life and earth sciences, policy and conservation, socio-cultural and economic factors, as well as education and recreation. Ultimately, the RSLC adds valued focus to a student’s degree and presents employment advantages through networking with the River Management Society. For complete details visit the River Management Society’s website and contact  NAU’s RSLC faculty advisor, Denielle Perry.

Conservation Ecology Accordion Closed

The Conservation Ecology Graduate Certificate program at NAU provides a means for early- and mid-career professionals to gain exposure and competence in the theory and practice of conservation ecology. The program is designed for environmental professionals who wish to briefly return to academia to upgrade or refine their skills in interdisciplinary conservation sciences or for currently enrolled graduate students who intend to apply conservation ecology to enhance their career opportunities. These skills may then be put to use through work for government agencies, for tribal governments, or for non-profit and for-profit stewardship organizations.

Greenhouse Gas Accounting Accordion Closed

The Greenhouse Gas Accounting Certificate program at NAU provides training to quantify and report greenhouse gas emissions associated with individual products or commodities, business/corporation operations, and entire communities using appropriate protocols and standards. You will also be able to verify the GHG emissions reported by others and use reported GHG emissions to design and justify effective emission management, reduction, and mitigation strategies.
