The Research Infrastructure Core (RIC) for the Southwest Health Equity Research Collaborative has a team of nine researchers, each with a full list of projects that they are responsible for. NAU investigators study childhood caries in Hawaii

Mc Manis and von Hippel receive CCPS funding

Beth McManis and Frank von Hippel, two Northern Arizona researchers, were selected to receive support funding of $5,000 each for one year through the Community-Campus Partnership Support (CCPS) program.

When Northern Arizona University researchers successfully partner with a community organization, their experience can inform other emerging community partnerships.

The Southwest Health Equity Research Collaborative (SHERC) created a video series titled “Stories of Community-Engaged Research” that features four community-university partnerships, each in its own five-part video.

COVID-19 connections

Health inequities in a time of COVID-19

According to a study by the Pew Research Center, about half of lower-income Americans report household job or wage loss due to COVID-19. Many partner organizations of the Center for Community Health and Engaged Research (CHER) are feeling the pandemic.
