Recruitment Core

The Recruitment Core is responsible for the recruitment and support of new faculty members with established rigorous health research programs to fill gaps in institutional expertise, and to support the mission of SHERC.

The Core designs and conducts effective and viable recruitment strategies to attract qualified applicants with a history of externally funded research, high-level scientific publications and research focused on urgent national and regional health priorities.

Faculty Member Recruitment Accordion Open

The Recruitment Core focuses on the recruitment of  two mid-career or senior faculty members in the disciplines of clinical/translational science, health economics, health informatics, and/or health services research.

Recruited faculty have track records of independent research support that includes current or recent funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Recruitment Core works closely with NAU’s Office of Human Resources to use best practices to ensure a strong pool of applicants.

Support New Hires Accordion Closed

The Recruitment Core supports new hires in establishing collaborative and independent health research programs at NAU and integrating them into SHERC as collaborators, mentors, and leaders. Start-up funding for each position is provided by NAU institutional support and supplemented by SHERC. New faculty members have full access to resources provided through other SHERC cores.

Additionally, new faculty members contribute to the mission of SHERC as research collaborators and faculty mentors/leaders, and provide guidance in project development and proposal writing to increase the competitiveness of NAU’s health research projects.
