Research Infrastructure Core (RIC) of the Southwest Heath Equity Research Collaborative (SHERC) recently restructured and created a technical assistance group focused in four areas:
- assisting researchers with project design and statistical assistance
- creating a training program inside Northern Arizona University
- offering external training for investigators and multidisciplinary groups
- developing an assistance with collaboration between institutions
Research assistance
RIC core faculty and staff have a broad range of expertise and are available to assist health equity research projects, pilot projects, and associated health equity research across the NAU campus. To submit a request for support, visit the RIC page.
Methodological education workshop program
Faculty and staff will provide training for a wide variety of methods and disciplines including research design and methodological/analytical tools that support NAU’s health equity-related research.
Infrastructure enhancement program
RIC faculty and staff provide coordinated research design, methodological expertise, informatics, and statistical support for the primary and secondary goals of each of the SHERC cores and projects.
Interinstitutional collaboration
RIC works closely with Arizona State University’s Institute for Social Science Research, Florida International University’s RCMI and other NIH supported centers such as the American Indian-Alaska Native Clinical Translational Research Program (AI-AN CTRP) that support research infrastructure development and application of cutting-edge methods and analytical needs for SHERC faculty and research groups.
