The NAU Department of Social Work Leadership Team, including the Chair, Associate Chairs, Program Coordinators, and other key personnel have been heavily engaged in BSW and MSW Program reaccreditation since the summer of 2024. This work culminated in the submission of our BSW and MSW self-study documents to our accrediting body, the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), on April 1, 2025, with a 2-day site visit to follow in October of 2025.
Each self-study document comes in three volumes: Volume 1 consists of our Programs’ responses to each of the five CSWE Accreditation Standards; Volume 2 consists of our Programs’ refreshed Core Syllabi, and Volume 3 consists of our refreshed Program Handbooks, Manuals, and other supportive resources.
Taken together, the self-study documents represent what we do, how we do it, and why we do it – updated to ensure that we can fulfill our mission to advance social and economic justice by delivering immediately relevant education, impactful research, and service in partnership with communities in local, state, national, and international contexts.
I deeply appreciate the dedication, ideas, and hard work of our program staff, faculty, and community partners in this work. We could not do this without you!
