Onboarding modules

NAU’s Onboarding modules will give you an introduction to NAU resources, answer your logistical questions, and set you up for a great start to the fall semester! 

How do I access the Onboarding modules?

All Onboarding modules will be hosted in Canvas, NAU’s Learning Management System. After logging into Canvas, access the Onboarding modules using the “Dashboard” tab on the left-hand side, and move through the modules using the “Next” button on the bottom right. 

Complete Onboarding Modules
  • For desktop users, you can access Canvas by visiting NAU Canvas.
  • For mobile users, Canvas can be accessed via the NAUgo app or via the flagship Canvas mobile application iOS or Android.

On both the desktop application and mobile versions, students will need to log in using their NAU userID (Ex: abc123) and password. Contact ITS for help with logging in at 928-523-3335 or ask-stc@nau.edu. For help with two-step identification, visit NAU’s two-step verification webpage.

What information do the modules cover?

There are three Onboarding modules that will set you up for a great first semester at NAU. We are committed to your success, so we expect all first-year students to complete these modules before arriving on campus.

Module 1: Getting Ready

Module 1: Getting Ready covers information around:

  • JacksCard ID
  • LOUIE to-do list
  • Paying for college
  • Enrolling in classes
  • Meeting with your advisor
  • Required vaccinations
  • Disability Resources, and more.

We recommend completing this module before June 1 to stay on track.

Module 2: When You Arrive

Module 2: When You Arrive points you in the right direction for:

  • Living and dining on campus
  • Roommate tips and etiquette
  • What to bring (and not to bring) for move-in
  • Meal plans and dining dollars, and
  • Bus routes and parking information.

You’ll want to make sure to complete this module by July 1.

Module 3: Your First Semester

Module 3: Your First Semester will clue you in about:

  • Getting involved at NAU
  • Student support resources
  • Health and wellness
  • Using AI in college, and
  • Preparing for your first class.

Make sure to explore this module by August 1.
