1.06 Change of Employment Between
State Agencies

This policy outlines the transfer of vacation and sick hours for new employees coming from Arizona state agencies.

Origination date: 10/1/93
Revised: 1/1/2000
Applicability: Academic Professionals, Administrators, Classified Staff, Faculty, Service Professionals

An eligible employee who changes employment from one Arizona state agency to another within 30 calendar days may maintain their accrued sick leave hours. The University does not ordinarily accept transfers of accrued vacation hours from any other institution or agency. However, the University will accept the transferred employee’s service credits for vacation computation purposes. An employee coming from another Arizona agency or University to fill a Classified Staff position must serve the standard new Classified Staff employee six-month probationary period.
