AISL student information

Assistance for current NAU students in the American Indian School Leadership program

The AISL program is an excellent opportunity for Native American teachers to continue their professional education and development.

The most recent AISL cohort graduated in December, 2024. At this time, the Federal government has not yet indicated whether or not a new grant cycle will be available. Please check back in  the summer of 2025 for news about potential funding and program renewal.

Current students:

As part of your educational support and professional development, you are encouraged to attend one major and one minor conference per year. Some of the major conferences are listed below.

If you are interested in attending a conference or professional development course not listed below, please email Savannah with the pertinent information (URL, flyer, conference fees, if not listed in the URL or document, etc.). Please be sure that the event for which you are requesting funding is pertinent in regard to the program and your future career as a school administrator!

Throughout your graduate career, please keep in mind NAU’s GPA (Grade Point Average) requirements!

A graduate student with a GPA below 3.0 is placed on probation. A student with more than 6 units of graduate work with a grade of “C” or below cannot continue in a master’s or doctoral plan, regardless of GPA.

See the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies page for more information.
