The second annual Northern Arizona Disability Resource Fair was held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the High Country Conference Center in Flagstaff. Hosted by the Institute for Human Development (IHD) and Care 4 the Caregivers, the event continued to build on its growing reputation as a vital regional hub for disability-related resources, community connection, and inclusion.
This year’s fair drew over 206 participants, a 21.8% increase from 2024’s inaugural event. The afternoon featured almost 40 exhibitors representing service providers, nonprofits, assistive technology companies, and local, state, and federal agencies. The event was supported by 16 volunteers, and attendees included individuals with disabilities of all ages, their families, caregivers, students, and community allies.

Participants praised the fair’s welcoming and collaborative atmosphere. One exhibitor shared, “It was great to connect with all the other exhibitors who have the same mission and goals, helping individuals live meaningful lives.” Many commented on the strong sense of partnership and shared purpose that filled the room.

In addition to resource exhibits, this year’s fair featured a range of family-friendly, inclusive activities building on last year’s offerings, which included adaptive video gaming, “make and take” workshops, and bingo. This year attendees enjoyed inclusive arts and crafts, an accessible obstacle course led by Coach Marty of High Country Adaptive Fitness, introductory rock-climbing experiences hosted by High Country Adaptive Sports, complimentary balloon animal creations, a scavenger hunt, and more. Accessibility remained a focus, with the introduction of a Sensory Room sponsored and staffed by Northern Arizona Healthcare Children’s Health Center, providing a quiet space for those needing a break from the bustling exhibit hall.

The Northern Arizona Disability Resource Fair was created in direct response to community needs for more accessible, regional opportunities to connect with disability resources. What began in 2024 as a successful first-time event, described by attendees as “awesome,” “welcoming,” and “full of amazing resources that gave me hope,” has become a living tradition for northern Arizona.
IHD was proud to partner once again with Care 4 the Caregivers, High Country Adaptive Sports, Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Children’s Health Center, and Quality Connections to bring this year’s fair to life.
