Overview
IHD has an outstanding team of researchers who are also expert practitioners in the disability disciplines of medicine, psychology, speech-language pathology, and education. This team is actively engaged in innovative research that has direct implications for disability-related practice. We aim to narrow the research-to-practice gap through active dissemination of research recommendations using practitioner-friendly formats. Our goal is to support organizations and practitioners in:
- understanding evidence-based practice as a decision-making framework
- selecting interventions with the best available research
- integrating clinical expertise and client values and preferences

MoEdu-SAIL
MoEdu-SAIL is an online source of professional development materials and resources for Missouri school districts and the statewide system of support. Educators and professional development providers can access the educator-learning materials. MoEdu-SAIL encompasses the DCI, DCI-MTSS, and MoPAL programs.

Culturally Appropriate Research in American Indian Employment (CARE) Project
The goal of the CARE project is to determine the practices and policies used by American Indian Vocational Rehabilitation project personnel, particularly those that are culturally appropriate, and identify the associated characteristics of each. It utilizes a community-based participatory research model to ensure that members of the communities being studied are involved in the project design and data collection. PATHS
For Parents with Intellectual Disabilities (ID)
We are collaborating with Arizona home-visiting programs to improve access to high-quality parenting support for parents with intellectual disabilities.
4.1 million parents in the U. S. have disabilities (Li, Parish, Mitra & Nicholson, 2017).
Our focus is on supporting parents with intellectual disabilities who have children up to 5 years old.
