Peak Performance Mathematics Bridge Program (Peak Performance) is a flexible, free, completely virtual summer program created to help students feel prepared and confident in their math journey at NAU. Peak Performance participants have the opportunity to:
- Work independently in an online platform
- Meet one-on-one with their assigned Math Coach for 6 personalized Zoom sessions
Math Coaches work with participants to help them reach their personal goals, which may include:
Preparing for the Math Placement Test
Participants looking to improve their math placement in order to register for the course required for their major will be guided through targeted practice to help them prepare for the Math Placement Test.
Building confidence for their upcoming math course
Participants will receive support to strengthen the foundational concepts needed for their next math class, helping them start the fall semester feeling confident, capable, and ready to succeed.

NAU students looking to prepare for the NAU Math Placement Test.
AND
NAU students enrolled in the following fall semester courses looking to strengthen the foundational concepts needed to start the semester feeling confident, capable, and ready to succeed.
What is needed to participate in Peak Performance? Accordion Closed
- Access to a computer/laptop with audio and video capabilities (video encouraged, but not required)
- Reliable internet
- Zoom App – downloaded onto your computer/laptop
- Access your free NAU Zoom account. (Click on download client at the bottom of the screen, and use your NAU credentials to log in.)
- NAU gmail account
What is the weekly time commitment? Accordion Closed
Altogether, participants should expect to commit around 4–5 hours per week on average. This consists of independent online work and Math Coach Zoom sessions. Participants are welcome to spend more or less time depending on their goals and summer schedule, but this range reflects what past students who successfully met their goals typically invested.
- Online Platform: Most participants get the greatest benefit when they plan to spend about 3–4 hours per week working in the online learning platform.
- Math Coach Zoom Sessions: These personalized sessions are designed to answer questions, check understanding, and help participants stay on track to meet their goals.
Which online learning platform will be used? Accordion Closed
Peak Performance uses MyMathTest as the online learning platform. MyMathTest provides access to:
- Personalized Study Plan: Based on initial pre-test results, MyMathTest generates a personalized Study Plan that shows at a glance which topics participants need to practice. The Study Plan links directly to interactive, tutorial questions with include guided solutions and multimedia learning aids to provide extra help when needed.
- Practice Tests: Participants can take the practice tests as many times as they would like.
- Tutorial Help: Practice questions include multimedia resources, such as videos and animations that demonstrate concepts, designed to help participants become confident with the concepts required to answer the question.
