The 2026-2027 Graduate Assistantship application with Campus Living opens early February 2026. Application closes, Monday, March 16, 2026 at 11:59 pm Mountain Time.
These positions serve a critical role in supporting students, staff, and the department in advancing our mission and foundational value areas through effective, intentional, and innovative initiatives and campus partnerships. We have 4 distinct graduate service assistantships available to enrolled full-time NAU students. Assistantships are posted to Handshake when openings are available for the academic year in Staffing and Engagement, Facilities, and Operations.

General Role Information
- All Graduate Assistant positions are a 20-hour average/week
- All Graduate Assistant positions are live-on positions

Graduate Assistant Position Summaries
Community Staffing Assistantship Accordion Closed
This Graduate Assistant works directly with Campus Living Community (CLC) Coordinators to supervise a staff of Community Assistants (CA) within an assigned community. The GA helps with the overall management of a CLC consisting of approximately 550-650 community members. With their direct supervisor, the GA assists with community operations, community member engagement, and creates an inclusive campus living community for all community members.
Community Engagement Assistantship Accordion Closed
This Graduate Assistant has a primary focus on further enhancing, maintaining, and assessing the engagement experience in their assigned communities. This includes helping to identify, initiate, develop, enhance, support, and assess engagement, supervision, and financial collaborative efforts that provide a synergistic living experience. Each GA supervises a group of student employees and also works collectively as a team to provide additional shared energy and resources to support emerging and/or complex initiatives.
Operations Assistantship Accordion Closed
The CLO GA supervises Campus Living Operations Assistants (CLOAs) and manages our year-round front desk services at each of our 17 campus living communities. The CLO GA supervises 6-11 CLOAs to ensure processes for scheduling, auditing keys, managing mail, and resource allocation are efficient and smooth. The CLO GA supports effective and intentional operational processes and programs.
Facilities Assistantship Accordion Closed
The Facilities GA supervises 15-25 Campus Living Facility Assistants (CLFAs), develops and manages facilities projects, and works with the Campus Living Community Staff and CLIP Staff to implement and promote strategic facilities improvements and processes. The Facilities GA utilizes StarRez, Shiftboard, WebTMA, and other software systems to track facility needs for each of our 17 campus living communities and surrounding areas.
